John was a human witness of the Son of God. (John 1:15-18 KJV)
The Holy Spirit is a divine witness of the Son of God. (1 John 5:5-12 KJV)
Jesus Christ was a witness of our father in heaven. (John 3:10-13 KJV)
We must also be witnesses for Christ in this world. (Acts 1:8).
We know the most important point in any conversation by what is emphasized at the beginning of the conversation, stressed in the middle, and emphasized at the very end.
Jesus’s last charge before His ascension was that we should be empowered to be witnesses unto Him on the earth and to commit the same charge to faithful men.
“When they, therefore, were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.”
Acts 1:6-9 KJV
They wanted a revolution as most people all around the world today also do. But that’s not in our power, what’s in our power is a testimony of our Lord Jesus backed by signs and wonders.
There’s nothing important about a Christian than being a witness of God, and there’s nothing important about being a witness than the testimony you bear.
WHAT SATAN USES TO FIGHT YOUR TESTIMONY
1. SELF CENTERED LIFE
“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Matthew 16:24-26 KJV
We must renounce it
It’s the inability to see beyond this world.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
1 John 2:15-17 KJV
We must reject it like Noah in a time of corruption and violence, and refuse it like Abraham our father of faith who kept seeking a city built by God.
“By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”
Hebrews 11:7-10 KJV
Anything that dishonors God and breaks His ordinance is sin. Every disobedience is a sin. Every unrighteousness is a sin. Lawlessness is a sin.
We must like Joseph abandon sin.
“There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her. And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within. And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.”
Genesis 39:9-12 KJV
We must like Daniel’s purpose in our heart not to be entertained or comforted by sin.
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.”
Daniel 1:8 KJV
The greatest challenge perhaps to an unstable soul is indecision.
It was the challenge of the Israelites in the days of old.
“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
1 Kings 18:21 KJV
It is the reason why many will have no portion and reward in God at the end of time.
“And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”
Revelation 3:14-16 KJV
A lukewarm believer is no Christian at all. They want only to be saved from the penalty of their sin and not their sin. God is a useful fire escape they employ, not a God they worship.
Lukewarmness is a disease of indecision that makes a man call what God expects of him/her a radical move.
“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”
Revelation 12:10-12 KJV
If at all you must die on earth, die for the testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The devil fights your testimony as a believer because he knows that’s how you can defeat him and his works just as Christ has defeated him on the cross.
“And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.”
Revelation 6:9-11 KJV
If you must die, die for the testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection…”
Hebrews 11:35 KJV
To obtain a better resurrection, a resurrection unto life, they refused deliverance.
Many in our generation accept deliverances not of the will of God when they’re closer to their crown.
Don’t let poverty, hunger, barrenness, joblessness, destitution, poverty, ostracism, etc. soil your testimony. Tarry for the one who shall come, do not accept satanic deliverance. Wait for the master, your crown is nearer to you if you live and wait for God.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ”
Romans 8:35 KJV
“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.”
Hebrews 10:35-39 KJV
LET US PRAY
God, as I depend upon you in this journey of faith, let nothing take away or soil my testimony as a witness of Christ. Help me to overcome indeed. Amen!
