How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. – Psalm 119 vs 9

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You

To see You high and lifted up
Shinin’ in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy, holy, holy

“And then, that very day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem. And they were talking with each other about all these things which had taken place. While they were talking and discussing it, Jesus Himself came up and began walking with them. But their eyes were [miraculously] prevented from recognizing Him. Then Jesus asked them, “What are you discussing with one another as you walk along?” And they stood still, looking brokenhearted. And it happened that as He reclined at the table with them, He took the bread and blessed it, and breaking it, He began giving it to them. Then their eyes were [suddenly] opened [by God] and they [clearly] recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight. They said to one another, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and opening the Scriptures to us?” They got up that very hour and went back to Jerusalem, and found the eleven [apostles] gathered together and those who were with them, saying, “The Lord has really risen and has appeared to Simon [Peter]!” They began describing in detail what had happened on the road, and how Jesus was recognized by them when He broke the bread.”
Luke 24:13‭-‬17‭, ‬30‭-‬35 AMP

On the road to Emmaus Jesus appeared to two people who were talking about Him and how he had died three days earlier. Now Jesus was with them but they were prevented from recognizing Him. When they got to their destination they persuaded Him to stay with them because it was already late. He stayed with them and while breaking bread God opened their eyes to recognize Him, then He vanished from their sight.
It is important to know that every treasure is gated. If it is a treasure then there has to be a gate guarding it. In Genesis 3:24 after God drove out Adam and Eve from the garden, He placed Cherubims and a flaming sword at the east gate of the garden to guard the tree of life. In Isaiah 45:1-3 God talked about the gates to be broken in order for Cyrus to access the hidden treasures of darkness and treasures of secret places.

“Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
Isaiah 45:1‭-‬3 KJV

Every treasure is gated but not every gate is on the outside. Sometimes the gates hindering us from the treasures of our lives are within us. Two days ago I talked about the heart gate and the ear gate but this morning I want to deal with the heart gate and the eye gate from the anchor scripture we read.
Many times we’re talking about our problems challenges like the two Men (Cleopas and Simon) when going through the journey of life, and because our heart gate is shut leading to unbelief, our eye gates are hindered from beholding the treasures standing before us.
Not every battle is from without, some battles are within us. Nothing blindfolds a man like unbelief and unbelief is made stronger for lack of hearing the word of God.
This month is a month of open gates, granting you access to every good treasure of life but you must saturate yourself with the word of God and soak yourself in prayers because prayer opens up a man’s eyes. Surround yourself with people that can speak grace to you. Surround yourself with people who believe in endless possibilities. Surround yourself with people whose faith is resting on the word of God.
See what God is saying to us this morning 👇:

“Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the Lord thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee. And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favor have I had mercy on thee. Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.”
Isaiah 60:9‭-‬11 KJV

Let your prayer this morning be this:
Lord open my eyes that I may see as you opened the eyes of the two men at Emmaus, open my eyes. God is the one who made the seeing eyes and hearing ears, ask Him to open your eyes.

“The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them. Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.”
Proverbs 20:12‭-‬13 KJV
